Cremation Services at Baker Funeral Home

Rental Cremation Service

Family and friends are invited to visit the funeral home to pay their respects to the deceased and condolences to the deceased’s family. Visitation provides time for sharing and remembrance and is followed by a funeral ceremony at a place of worship or the funeral home chapel. Following the funeral ceremony, the deceased is transported to the crematorium for cremation. Following the cremation, arrangements are made with the family for the return of the cremated remains. The term rental refers to the casket, which is equipped with a cremation insert that is rented for the funeral ceremony. The insert is removed and only the insert is sent for cremation.

Direct Cremation

A direct cremation happens when the deceased is removed from the place of death and transported to the funeral home. After securing the proper paperwork needed for cremation, the remains are placed in a proper cremation container and transported to the crematorium for cremation. After the cremation is performed, arrangements are made with the family for the return of the cremated remains. A direct cremation service may be arranged with a memorial service at the funeral home or other location with additional charges. This can be done with or without the cremated remains present. The family may wish to provide photographs or other items for this ceremony.
