Inspect Your Home or Business
- Look for water sources (leaking water pipes or standing water) since insects and rodents tend to make their nests near these.
- If you see any small holes or gaps around the house, caulk them up. Insects and rodents can gain entry from very small openings.
- Replace worn attic screens and check for holes and gaps.
- Buy yellow or non-insect attractive light bulbs for the exterior of your home.
- Try to keep the doors closed and make sure they have a weather strip on the bottom.
- Remove clutter in and around the house (basements, attics and garages.)
- Do not leave any type of food out overnight. Store all pet food in air-tight containers.
- Prune trees and shrubs regularly to prevent insects from gaining entry into your home or business.
