The ELLES Student
A student with learning disabilities or learning difficulties often is not provided an opportunity to be successful in regular school programs. This student may demonstrate difficulties with information processing and standard educational practices, and lack steady and continual academic progress.
On the other hand, the student has good educational potential and, given a program that addresses his or her learning needs, can be expected to attain maximum reading, writing, and math skills at his or her ability level.
Appearances of educational or social deficits must not be roadblocks for full development of a student's potential for academic achievement and personal development. Although restrictions such as an attention deficit or a memory weakness may not be totally ameliorated, the student attending ELLES can have success in the academic and social arenas.
The ELLES School offers the residents of Greater Palm Beach County who have children with specific learning disabilities, speech or language impairments, educable mentally handicapped, autism (mild range) or Otherwise Health Impaired the following:
- Special education for students who have a disability from 1st grade – age 22
- Standard high school diploma to qualified students
- Small, accepting, nurturing school environment with trained faculty and staff
- Sequential and intensive learning techniques and methods
- Support (i.e. lectures and meetings with parents and students)
