About Cynthia Myers-Rubin

Cynthia Myers-Rubin has been helping people in South Florida for over a decade. She is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and has a private practice in Boca Raton. She has extensive experience working with adults, couples and families and has worked in a variety of settings ranging from the Palm Beach County's Drug Farm, a substance abuse treatment facility in the Stockade, to working at Catholic charities, and family and children services.

For more than six years, Cynthia served as an arbitrator for Broward County in a diversionary program for juvenile offenders. Cynthia has undergone extensive post-graduate training including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy from the Albert Ellis Institute. Additionally, she is a frequent speaker on various topics. Ms. Myers-Rubin received training in parent coordination from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She is also a Certified Supreme Court Family Mediator.

Ms. Myers-Rubin has been a member of the Florida Bar Association since 1986 and engaged in the practice of law prior to becoming a licensed clinical social worker. She has been employed as part time associate attorney for the law firm of Paxton, Crow, Bragg, Smith & Keyser and for Kogan & Disalvo. Further, she has provided pro bono legal services for the Palm Beach Guardian At Litem Department and has served as a court appointment attorney in dependency cases.

Currently, Cynthia Myers-Rubin is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers. She has been a board member of the Palm Beach unit for four and a half years and also served as the Legislative Chair. She is now the Co-Chair for the Palm Beach Southern unit. In this capacity, she advocates for the rights of the disadvantaged including children, the mentally ill and senior citizens.

Born in Canada, Cynthia earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University in psychology, where she earned a university scholar distinction. She acquired her master's in social work from Barry University, during which time she received the Student Social Worker Award from the Palm Beach Chapter for the National Association of Social Workers. Ms. Myers-Rubin holds law degrees from both the University of Ottawa in Canada and Nova University.
