About Us
South Carolina Canine Academy (SCK9) is affiliated with Posh Pets.
We have been training dogs for over 30 years. It began in 1975 where we worked and trained for a Southwestern police dog academy. There we trained many dogs for Rollins Security and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
My wife and I have since retired from dog training but we are available in a consulting capacity.
Our son, Chris, and his wife, Jackie, have superseded us and expanded to one of the best dog training academies in the U.S.
Chris is a national certifying agent. He is certified with “Paws with a Cause” (these dogs are trained as seeing eye dogs and companions for the handicap). He has over 400 certifications and this would be too much to list separately.
Chris trains dogs for basic obedience to advanced police work. He currently has dual purpose dogs on duty with law enforcement all over the U.S.
Posh Pets Dental Hygiene
Pete is Posh Pets’ very own dental hygienist. He cleans and scales your pet’s teeth without the use of anesthesia or tranquilizers. He trained under several veterinarians and then developed his skill to work with pets that are not under anesthesia or on tranquillizers. He has 7 years of experience. You can be confident that your pet’s teeth will get a quality cleaning at a fraction of the cost.
Posh Pets Grooming
Posh Pets has been providing quality grooming for over 25 years. We are an all breed grooming shop, specializing in bichons and all terrier breeds. All of our products are natural and chemical free. We take great pride in being able to make your pet look and feel better than you ever dreamed possible. Our customers always comment that their dogs look forward to coming to Posh Pets. Pet Photography
Jackie is Posh Pets’ very special pet photographer. She works out of the Lexington location and some of her work is on display at our Sparkleberry location. She has a gift with animals and they sense her genuine affection. She offers 1st class photos for holidays and special occasions.
Jackie studied photography at USC and did layout and design for Easy Street magazine in Aiken, South Carolina. These are just a few among many of Jackie’s numerous accomplishments.
