Evangelist Geraldine R. Cotton
Evangelist Geraldine R. Cotton is the daughter of Mrs. Marie Gibson and the late Mr. Ulysses V. Robinson, Sr. She is a graduate of Crandall Business College with degree in Professional Science. Evangelist Cotton is married to the renowned Bishop John L. Cotton, pastor of the Greater Overcoming Church of God Reformation which includes churches throughout the United States and Germany. Their family includes eight children. In July 1995, Evangelist Cotton was appointed to the position of General Supervisor of the Women's Work of the Overcoming Church of God Reformation. In this capacity, she has begun the development of a curriculum for all churches wherein the women meet for Bible study and Christian fellowship, and where life skills are taught.
Because of her special interest in child evangelism, Mother Cotton was instrumental in helping to organize the Youth Church of Greater Overcoming wherein the young people continue to meet bimonthly for prayer, worship and to study the word of God, particularly as it relates to issues that concern them, i.e. peer pressure, self esteem, etc. Saved and Spirit- filled, Evangelist Cotton is a Holy woman of God whose character personifies the qualities of the woman spoken of in Proverbs 31:10-12, Virtuous, Priceless and God-fearing, "The heart of her husband does safely trust in her. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. "If you know anything about Mother Cotton and if you have the opportunity to talk to her for any length of time, there are two things you will come to know about her immediately:
(1) She truly loves Jesus and has a personal relationship with him.
(2) She is the greatest and staunchest supporter of her husband, Bishop Cotton.
Mother Cotton, in addition to her duties as wife, mother, grandmother and First Lady, also, works extremely close with her husband in the ministry. She is one of his staunchest supporters and proudly declares, "I'd rather fight than switch," in reference to their marriage of over twenty-five years. In addition, Mother Cotton serves as General Mother of the Overcoming Reformation which includes all churches in the organization.
