Pet Care Tips

vaccinations, veterinarian, nutritionThe first step to taking care of your pet is providing a safe environment. Be sure not leave dangerous items or substances out in the open where dogs and cats can access them. If your pet spends unsupervised time outdoors, be sure that the yard is well fenced off and be aware of natural predators in the environment. Never leave your pet alone in a car. Even a moderately warm day can create dangerously hot temperatures inside of a car.

Be sure to see your veterinarian at least once or twice a year. The effects of many diseases can be minimized if caught early. Vets can recommend adjustments to nutrition and exercise regiments that can improve energy levels, anxiety, and general health. If you have a puppy or kitten, be sure to get all necessary vaccinations. Stay on top of vaccination records to be sure pets receive booster shots at appropriate intervals.
