How should I care for fresh flowers?
You may be familiar with the small package of “flower food” that often comes with fresh flowers but there are additional steps you can take to make your cut flowers last longer.
- Add fresh room temperature water to the arrangement. If your tap water is heavily chlorinated or considered “hard”, we recommend using bottled spring water. Add fresh water daily!
- Trim at least one inch from the bottom of the flowers stems with scissors or a sharp knife. You may need to re-cut the stems every two days or so.
- Remove leaves which fall below the water line and keep your flowers out of direct heat and sunlight.
