  1. What is a click?
    The way we define a ‘click' is when one of the listings that we have created on a search engine is selected and the web surfer is taken to the customer's website. It only registers a click if the listing is one that BellSouth created.
  2. How are clicks calculated?
    Each of our customers' listings are created with a unique ‘tracking' code. When a listing is ‘clicked' by a web surfer, this little piece of code sends a packet of information to our vendor. Our vendor keeps track of how many clicks each customer receives.
  3. Can I get a copy of my report?
    You can request a copy of your latest monthly report by sending an email to realsearch@bellsouth.com.
  4. Can I get reports which have a breakdown for each search engine?
    Additional details may be available, but are not currently a part of our normal monthly report. Customers who want additional details can send an email to realsearch@bellsouth.com.
  5. How does the search product work?
    BellSouth's team of experienced creative writers produces quality search listings. They use a variety of proven tools and techniques to link those listings with the correct keywords to find potential customers searching on the web and bring them to your website. All of this is done with very minimal involvement of the advertiser allowing you to focus on your business.
  6. Can I pick my own keywords?
    BellSouth allows customers to suggest any keywords they would like to use. Customers may send all suggestions to realsearch@bellsouth.com or have their sales representative add them to the sales instructions. However, due to our contractual obligations to obtaining click commitment clicks, BellSouth must have full control over the ‘back-end' functions of all our accounts. Therefore, BellSouth reserves the right to either use or not to use any particular keyword, at any time, without informing the customer of any keyword changes.
  7. When will my report be sent out?
    All of our customer reports go out between the 4th and the 14th of each month. These reports are always sent via e-mail to the email addresses listed for that customer. All of our reports show the data for the previous month's performance. So a report sent in March will be showing the account performance for the previous month (February).
  8. Why am I not receiving my report?
    All of our reports are sent via e-mail. If you are not receiving your report, send an email to realsearch@bellsouth.com and inform them. They will be able to update your email address and send you the latest report. If you still have issues receiving your report, then your email software or your ISP may have ‘spam blocking' software that is filtering out the email. BellSouth cannot fix this problem and the customer would either have to consult their email software help files, contact their ISP, or give BellSouth a different email address to send the reports.
  9. Why are some of my competitors ahead of me?
    BellSouth's Real Search Products do not take ‘competitors' into consideration. Our products also do not take into consideration 'placement' on the search engines. None of our search products have any conditions on the level placement of your listing on any search engine. Our packages focus on getting your business clicks from potential customers, and we take steps to ensure that we meet or exceed our click commitments.
  10. Where will my ad be located?
    We ensure that your listing is on the search engines for your package, but BellSouth does not ensure any type of ‘placement' level for any listing.
  11. Can changes be done to the ad/keywords/site description?
    If there are errors, misspellings, or incorrect details in a listing, send an email to realsearch@bellsouth.com and we will make the correction as quickly as possible. If you have any suggestions or are unhappy with the listing you can send an email to the same address and we will have your account checked by a creative writer to see what changes can be made.
  12. How long before any changes take effect?
    Errors can usually be fixed within a 3-day period, which is mostly due to the delay of the search engines themselves (which BellSouth cannot control). Changes that are requested due to ‘suggestions' or other reasons usually take 7-10 days for a creative writer to investigate and approve, and then have the search engine update the listing.
  13. On which search engines will the ad be placed?
    That depends upon the search package you have purchased. Check with your sales representative for details.
  14. I've gotten plenty of clicks but no leads. Why is that?
    Just like a fancy store can attract a lot of people to enter and look around, it takes the right product or service at the right price to make a sale. BellSouth Search Product's job is to bring potential customers to your website; when we do this, that is a “click.” It is up to your website, your business, your products and services, and prices to determine if those potential customers become actual customers.
  15. I'm dissatisfied with the service. How do I cancel?
    BellSouth wants all our customers to be happy with our products and services. If you have a specific error or correction you want fixed on your listing, you can email realsearch@bellsouth.com and they will do their best to resolve any particular issue. Please note that realsearch@bellsouth.com cannot help with any issues regarding contract details, canceling service, etc. If you want to discuss contract details or desire to cancel your service then you would need to contact your sales representative or the customer service center to speak with an operator.   16. How can I tell your ad from the others?
    Your monthly report should show you an example ad listing that is currently active on the search engines. If you see other listings on search engines leading to your site, you can send those to realsearch@bellsouth.com to determine if it is one of ours.
  17. What are the benefits of using this product?
    The major benefit of all the BellSouth Search Products is that they allow the customer to step back and not have to worry about internet advertising. The customer can rest easy knowing that their website is being advertised by quality professionals that truly understand internet advertising and are writing compelling ads for their website on popular search engines. Our packages help provide clicks to the customer's website, so the customer can simply focus on their business.
  18. Will a creative writer be calling me?
    The BellSouth Search Team does not normally contact the customer prior to setting up any account. The creative writers use the website itself and any details and instructions left by sales when the product was entered into the system.
  19. Why can't I talk to a creative writer directly?
    Our creative writers are swamped with accounts and do not have the extra time to contact customers individually. Any customers that need to contact the search team should email realsearch@bellsouth.com and the support team there will make sure to handle the request.
  20. How are keywords created?
    Keywords are determined by the customer's suggestions, the customer's website, internet keyword tools, existing product performance, and other factors.
  21. How can I contact someone with specific questions regarding my ad?
    All contact to the search team should be done through your sales representative or via email at realsearch@bellsouth.com .
